The Office of the Tema Awudum Jaasetsɛ has taken note of ongoing public discussions concerning the operations of MCDAN AVIATIONS and the broader MCDAN Group of companies, owned by prominent Ghanaian entrepreneur Dr. Daniel Mckorley.

As a traditional leader and custodian of our people’s welfare, i believe it is important to place on record that the growth and protection of indigenous businesses must remain a national priority. Ghana’s economic transformation depends largely on the success of local entrepreneurs who have demonstrated resilience, innovation, and commitment to national development.

Over the years, Mr. McKorley has built the McDan Group into a significant Ghanaian enterprise with investments in aviation, logistics, shipping, and infrastructure. These ventures have not only strengthened Ghana’s private sector but have also created employment opportunities for many citizens, particularly the youth.

Equally important is his dedication to community development. As a proud son of the Ga-Dangme land, Mr. McKorley has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the welfare and progress of Ga-Dangme communities through various social interventions, youth empowerment initiatives, and support for traditional institutions.

It is therefore our considered view that while regulatory institutions must ensure compliance with the laws of Ghana, such processes should be undertaken in a manner that supports and encourages indigenous enterprise rather than discourages it. Constructive engagement, guidance, and partnership between government authorities and local businesses remain essential to sustaining economic growth and protecting jobs.

The Office of the Tema Awudum Jaasetsɛ respectfully encourages the Government and relevant regulatory bodies to continue engaging Ghanaian-owned enterprises such as the McDan Group in a fair, balanced, and supportive manner. Nurturing local entrepreneurs not only strengthens our economy but also inspires future generations to pursue enterprise and innovation.

As a traditional authority, i remain committed to promoting unity, development, and economic empowerment within our communities and across the nation.

    Signed

    Nii Lartey Abaamu Bu-Obɔ I
