The Upper East Regional Police Command has arrested seven suspected armed robbers allegedly linked to a series of robbery incidents in Zebilla, Garu and Binduri. The suspects are Issaka Iddrisu, 20; Ali Tamimu, 21; Akugre Amobila, 26; Banabas Apiiga, 41; Abdul-Rashid Adamu, 38; Apiiga Alebena, 21; and Bilal Adabodee, 31. Commercial banks in Ghana recorded GH¢1.23 billion in loan write-offs during the first half of 2026, representing a 38% increase over the GH¢893 million reported during the same period in 2025.
