The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has called on Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie to ensure that judges adhere to established rules and traditions governing the legal vacation, particularly by refraining from compelling lawyers to attend court when they are unavailable. Lawyer Martin Kpebu has warned President John Mahama that continued arrests over political comments could gradually erode the goodwill enjoyed by his government. The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has withdrawn the airport access permits of two Port Health officers after they were caught allegedly charging a passenger more than the approved fee for a Yellow Fever Card at Kotoka International Airport. In a statement issued on Thursday, August 6, GACL said the incident occurred on August 5 at Terminal 3, where the officers allegedly charged a foreign passport holder USD40 instead of the approved USD20 fee for the card.
