    The Ministry of Health has constituted a seven-member committee to investigate allegations of unethical medical practices at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge).
    In a statement signed by Spokesperson Tony Goodman, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to upholding ethical standards and restoring public confidence in Ghana’s healthcare system.
    The committee, chaired by Alhaji Dr. (Pharm) Inua Yusuf, Esq., Head and Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Health, is tasked with conducting a comprehensive and independent inquiry into the alleged unethical practices at the two public health facilities.
    In addition, the committee is mandated to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of existing governance, oversight, and control mechanisms in preventing unethical and unauthorised practices within the affected institutions.
    The statement further disclosed that the Health Minister, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has directed the committee to submit its final report, together with recommendations, to the Ministry by February 10, 2026.
    The other members of the committee are:


    a. Dr. Eric Kofi Ngyedu – CEO, Cape Coast Teaching Hospital & Dean of CEOs for Teaching Hospitals
    b. Dr. Adam Abass – Neurosurgeon, Tamale Teaching Hospital & President, Ghana Academy of Neurosurgeons
    c. Dr. George Sabblah – Deputy CEO (Technical Operations) of Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) & Representative for FDA
    d. Dr. Nicholas Adjabu – Biomedical Engineer- Biomedical Engineering Unit, Ministry of Health
    e. Dr. Frederick Kwarteng – Representative, Ghana Medical Association (GMA) & Head of Department of Trauma & Orthopedics & Department of Accident and Emegency of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital
    f. Prof. John Osae-Kwapong – Democracy and Development Fellow, CDD-Ghana & Rep, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs)
