The Ga East Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region has re-elected Paul Mintah as its Presiding Member, securing all 13 votes cast in a unanimous decision that underscores strong confidence in his leadership.

The re-election is seen as a clear endorsement of his stewardship as the Assembly continues efforts to strengthen local governance and drive development within the municipality.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Mintah expressed gratitude to the Assembly Members for the trust placed in him and pledged to serve with diligence, fairness, and renewed commitment.

He described his re-election as an opportunity to build on the progress achieved during his previous term, emphasising the importance of unity and collaboration in advancing the Assembly’s development agenda.

Highlighting key achievements, Mr. Mintah noted that the Assembly had organised orientation programmes for Unit Committee Members to enhance grassroots governance.

He also pointed to the establishment of an Environmental Sanitation Sub-Committee to tackle sanitation challenges, as well as improved administrative oversight through the Finance and Administration Committee.

Additionally, he cited improvements in service delivery at the Client Service Unit and revealed that three Assembly Members had participated in an international conference in Russia to build capacity and strengthen institutional performance.

Mr. Mintah further disclosed that a contract has been awarded for the refurbishment of the Assembly’s conference hall as part of efforts to improve infrastructure.

While acknowledging challenges such as limited resources, he expressed optimism about the Assembly’s ability to make meaningful progress through strong leadership and commitment.

He also extended appreciation to key stakeholders, including the Municipal Chief Executive, Member of Parliament, Heads of Departments, and Assembly staff, for their continued support in advancing the municipality’s development goals.
