Joana Quaye, former wife of businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye, has filed an application at the High Court in Accra seeking to stop him from selling or transferring several assets while she challenges their divorce settlement at the Court of Appeal.

The application, filed through Dame & Partners, asks the court to freeze company shares, luxury vehicles and properties acquired during their marriage until the appeal is decided.

In her affidavit, Joana Quaye said she supported RNAQ financially in the early stages of his life and business career. She claimed she left school, worked multiple jobs and used her savings to support his studies in the UK before helping to fund the microfinance business they started together in 2010.

According to her, the business later became Bills Micro Credit.

She also alleged that she was removed as a shareholder and director of the company without her consent.

The assets listed in the application include interests in Quick Credit, Quick Angels, Waterfall Engineering, Tigon Entertainment, Ridge Medical Centre and CEQA Foods, among others.

Properties at Trasacco Estates, East Legon, Dansoman and Mamprobi were also named, together with luxury vehicles including a Rolls-Royce Phantom, Bentley Coupe, G-Wagon and Range Rover models.

Joana Quaye further accused RNAQ of infidelity and physical abuse during the marriage, claiming some police complaints she filed did not progress.

She is also challenging the January 2026 divorce ruling, arguing that the full written judgment became available after the appeal period had expired.
