Independent aspiring parliamentary candidate for Kpone-Katamanso  Constitueny in the Greater Accra Region, Abraham Aidoo, has engaged women groups at Zion Bridge near Apollonia in the  costituency as part of efforts to promote skills development and economic empowerment.

Speaking during the interaction on Friday, Mr. Aidoo said the initiative was aimed at equipping women with practical entrepreneurial skills to help them establish small businesses capable of supporting their families and improving livelihoods.

According to him, empowering women economically remains critical to community development and national progress.

He encouraged the beneficiaries not to rely solely on government for employment opportunities but rather take advantage of the skills training provided to create their own sources of income.

Mr. Aidoo stressed that entrepreneurship can help women become financially independent while contributing meaningfully to the development of their communities.

“We should not wait for government to provide jobs for us. The skills we have provided should be used to make money, establish yourselves and support your families,” he told the women.

The aspiring parliamentary candidate also used the opportunity to remind residents about an upcoming communal labour exercise scheduled for May 23 as part of efforts to improve sanitation within the constituency.

He urged community members to actively participate in the clean-up campaign, especially as the rainy season approaches, to help prevent choked gutters and flooding.

Mr. Aidoo noted that maintaining clean surroundings and proper drainage systems is essential to protecting lives and property during the rainy season.
