    GIS rescues 112 suspected trafficking victims in Asankragwa, repatriates 105 foreign nationals

    The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has returned 105 foreign nationals to their home countries following an intelligence-led operation in Asankragwa that rescued 112 suspected trafficking victims. The raid was conducted on May 20, 2026, by the Asankragwa Sector Command under Assistant Commissioner of Immigration (ACI) Kwabena Adjei, targeting premises linked to commercial sex activities. In a statement issued on Monday, June 1, the GIS confirmed that the initial screening identified the group as 110 Nigerians, one Beninese, and one Cameroonian—all female, aged between 12 and 38.
