    Forestry Commission grabs 12 illegal miners in Atewa Forest

    The Forestry Commission’s Rapid Response Unit (RRU) has arrested 12 persons for allegedly engaging in illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, inside the Atewa Range Forest Reserve in the Eastern Region. The arrests were made during a dawn operation on September 4, 2026, around the Sagyimase community in Compartments 61 and 62 of the Atewa Forest Reserve in the Kyebi Forest District.     Accra: Fire destroys two wooden structures, two containers at Agringanor

    Two wooden structures and two metal containers have been destroyed by fire at Agringanor, opposite the Asamoah Gyan Filling Station. Mr Emmanuel Doni-Kwame, Secretary-General of ICC Ghana, speaking at a media forum organised by the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), said the situation required stronger coordination among the various agencies involved in inspecting goods at the ports.     Cement price hike looms as manufacturers introduce GH¢12 clinker demurrage surcharge amid Tema Port congestion
