    The Ghana Police Service has declared Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, popularly known as ‘Ghana Jollof’, wanted in connection with an alleged case of incitement of violence.

    According to the police, it has been monitoring a TikTok account under the name “Ghana Jollof”, which the accused person used to issue offensive and inciteful comments as well as publish false news likely to cause fear and alarm.

    “As part of continuous efforts to clamp down on illicit online activities, the Ghana Police Service has, for some time now, observed a TikTok account under the name Ghana Jollof which has been used to issue offensive and inciteful comments as well as to publish false news which is likely to cause fear and alarm. Police intelligence revealed the identity of the account owner to be Babara Asantewaa Kodua, believed to be domiciled in the United Kingdom.

    “Over a period of time, Babara Asantewaa Kodua has used her social media platform to produce and publish videos containing offensive and inciteful statements through the potential to provoke violence… In one of the videos under investigation, the suspect, Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, falsely made the claim that there was a near coup d’état in the Jubilee House amongst other things,” the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, Lydia Yaako Donkor, briefed the nation in a press conference on September 18, 2026.

    The police played the video of Ghana Jollof, claiming that there was a near-coup d’état at the presidency.

    She claimed that the actions of the President of the Republic angered some soldiers who tried to overthrow him.

    She claimed that there is CCTV footage of the attempted coup that the government was hiding.
