The Resurrection Power New Generation Church located at Kalabule in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region has lost its canteen to a fire disaster. Church members spotted a thick smoke emitting from the top floor of the one-storey building and attempted to attack the fire with hand-held extinguishers while placing a distress call to the fire service. Taking a break from my regional tour today, I visited a Ga-Dangme farming community deep in the forest of Asante Akim South District in Ashanti Region. It is called Kpone Praso (or, “Kpone on the Pra River”), and they’ve been there since 1927, when the Asantehene granted the land to the family patriarch from Kpone, in what is today Greater Accra Region.
