Lecturer Dr Joshua Zaato has stated that public frustration in Ghana is increasing as more stories emerge about xenophobic attacks against Ghanaians in South Africa.
According to him, ordinary citizens are demanding stronger action from government after watching disturbing videos and testimonies from victims.
“People are angry,” he stated on JoyNews’ AM Show
According to him, many Ghanaians feel disappointed by the response from South African authorities and businesses operating in Ghana.
He warned that if officials continue to remain silent, tensions could grow further among the public.
“There are genuine fears in Ghana right now,” he said.
Dr Zaato maintained that government must take visible steps to reassure citizens while also helping returnees rebuild their lives after the attacks.
